AED Training

An AED is a portable device that can deliver an electric shock to the heart to restore a normal rhythm. AED training covers:

  • Recognizing cardiac arrest: Identifying when someone needs an AED.
  • Using the AED: Learning to turn on the device, attach the pads, and follow the prompts to deliver a shock if needed.
  • Safety precautions: Ensuring the environment is safe before using the AED.

Narcan Training, also known as Naloxone training, teaches individuals how to recognize the signs of an opioid overdose and administer Narcan (Naloxone), a medication that can reverse the effects of an overdose. This training is crucial for saving lives in the event of an opioid overdose.

Here are some key components of Narcan training:

  1. Recognizing Overdose Signs: Understanding the symptoms of an opioid overdose, such as unresponsiveness, slow or no breathing, and blue lips or fingertips.
  2. Administering Narcan: Learning to properly use Narcan, which can be administered via nasal spray or injection.
  3. Safety and Legal Information: This section provides information on the safety of using Narcan and the legal protections for those who administer it.
